Sustainability

In order to guarantee optimized productivity and quality without attacking the nature, we have developed several tools and programs to prioritize the environment and people’s well-being.

Environmental Responsibility

The company uses raw material from sustainable reforesting areas so as to combat native fauna and flora destruction. Additionally, the water used by the company undergoes a modern treatment station before it returns to the Juqueri River. It also cooperates with the depoluttion program of Tiête River, from which Juqueri is one of the affluent.

We have motivated our collaborators to create a Selective Collecting Program to recycle residues produced by the company and generate benefits to everyone.

Social Responsibility

MD Papéis is proud to participate in several social projects. The company is actively involved in the daily life of the communities surrounding its production plants, employees and their families.

The company collaborates with social programs mostly in the cities of Francisco Morato and Caieiras. The company is also present in the PETI project through AFGGS (Associação dos Funcionários Grupo Gusmão Santos) aiming at:

• Removing children and teenagers from dangerous, arduous, unhealthy and degrading work;
• Incentivating the access, frequence and top performance at school;
• Providing cultural, artistic and leisure activities to broaden their horizons;
• Supporting families through social and educational actions, promoting and implementing income raising programs;
• Acting in the SOS Nordeste Project through AFGGS with the purpose of general knowledge and personal value increase, self-esteem, dignity, respect, freedom and family relationship bonds recovery by developing essential background skills, awakening for a citizenship commitment, recognizing one's intrinsic potential, reckoning one's ability to enhance the environment where they live and the society in general; • Supporting programs focused on nature preservation;
• Setting agreements with institutions for young apprentices training;
• Creating leisure centers for its collaborators to encourage the sports practice;
• Stimulating employees to volunteer in social programs through actions and projects;
• Developing leisure, sports and community integration programs involving employees and their relatives, as well as the community where the plants are installed;
• Education, Training and Professional Development: actions, programs, projects and campaigns developed for educational and professional trainings purposes. The activities benefit mainly the community where the company is located;
• Health: programs and campaigns aimed at diseases prevention; medical and odontological assistance and hospital maintenance. The activities benefit mostly the community where the company is, the employees and their relatives;
• Economic development: programs and projects to generate opportunities for the community through professionalization activities and job creation.

• Growth: selection process prioritizes current employees to fulfill a position, encouraging collaborator's professional development; • Partnership with regional communities so as to contribute too the social and economic development;
